Our team drives design innovation, delivering Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, and more. We work on the Alexa app, designing on-the-go productivity and entertainment experiences. Together, we're meeting the future head on through our Devices Human Interface Guidelines and product strategies.We are looking for a Full Stack Senior UX Designer to drive the definition and design for Alexa's core multimodal experiences across devices, encompassing all new and existing Echo devices, Fire TV, and Alexa Auto experiences. You will additionally help drive the definition and design of tools that will help our developer partners build experiences for multimodal devices.In this role, you will collaborate with a team of world-class multi-disciplinary designers to invent and deliver UX frameworks and features that align and extend the Alexa experience across all Echo devices. You will help share the design system to external developer partners via Amazon developer portal. You will help define the end-to-end developer journey from discovery to engagement to managing content built for our Alexa, Fire, and Auto devices. You will work alongside research, product, and engineering partners across the organization to build customer-focused solutions at scale. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. You must be able to lead projects forward in the face of complexity and ambiguity.Key job responsibilities

  • Design beautiful, useful, and desirable user interfaces and experiences in a team environment.
  • Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, and usability findings.
  • Use business requirements, user and market research to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements.
  • Design the UI architecture, interface, and interaction flow of applications and experiences.
  • Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, click-throughs, and prototypes.
  • Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design patterns.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of customer behaviors, motivations, and daily habits.
  • Work with project managers to plan projects for effective delivery while maintaining high standards for design.
  • Be a passionate and effective advocate for design with non-design audiences.
  • Write effectively to communicate design rationales and benefits to Amazon customers.
  • Use analytics and data to drive design decision making to best serve our customers.
  • Create and maintain processes for scaling, updating, managing, and evangelizing a design system.A day in the lifeYou will create a variety of deliverables, including wireframes, prototypes, user-flows, high-fidelity mockups and specs to communicate design thinking to senior leadership, engineering and product partners at every phase of product development. You will champion a design system and invent and simplify a set of mechanisms and tools that empower designers and engineers building the future of multimodal experiences. You will collaborate on a daily basis with a world-class, multi-disciplinary team of design, product, and engineering professionals working on some of the most challenging problems at Amazon today.About the teamYou will join a team of full stack designers working across devices to deliver exceptional customer experiences.   • Expertise in the design thinking process.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with research and human-centered design with a portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience solving complex challenges with simple user-centered design solutions.
  • Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides.
  • Additional design skills in related fields, including motion design, animation, and prototyping.
  • Experience in designing interactions for voice-led devices.
  • Experience in designing cross-platform experiences.
  • Ability to drive and close on design requirements independently.
  • Proficiency in presenting design work to user experience teams, product and engineering teams, and executives for review and feedback.
  • Working knowledge of the foundations of engineering principles and how design translates into code.
