history of spaceflight!This role is part of the Lunar Permanence
business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon
lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having
millions of people living and working in space, we are building
sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from
Earth to the lunar surface. Our MK2 Crew Lander mission will
demonstrate the lander's core capabilities - including the
privately funded BE-7 landing engine, precision landing sensors,
and integrated power and propulsion architecture - as a precursor
to certifying the vehicle for use by NASA as part of the Artemis
lunar exploration program. The team building this vehicle is
rethinking how space systems are designed, with a high-performance
architecture, efficient reusability, and rapid design iteration.

integrate, deliver, and operate fluids and propulsion subsystems on
Lunar landers.We are looking for someone to apply their technical

include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for leading a team to deliver high-performance
fluids components for Lunar vehicles
- Accountable for design, analysis and manufacture of components
to meet requirements while balancing cost, schedule, and risk
- Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor a diverse, equitable, and
inclusive team
- Manage your direct reports' professional development (e.g.,
coaching, routine one-on-one development conversations, performance
reviews, and promotion management)
- Develop robust plans meeting deliverables and manage to the key
operating metrics - including technical, cost, schedule, and
risk
- Develop product roadmaps, including development and
incorporation of technologies to meet future mission
requirements
- Work with internal Lunar and SLD customers to understand
requirements, and optimize solutions that meet mission needs
- Perform technical work and provide technical leadership of the
highest caliber
- Monitor technical progress, requirements, budget, schedule,
deliverables and risks as well as review recommendations for change
with program management
- Communicate progress to leadership team via; program management
reviews weekly/monthly, finance reviews, long term forecasting
business plan, and project deep dives
- Utilize good engineering and business judgement to ensure the
most efficient and effective product is designed, manufactured,
procured, tested, qualified, and deliveredQualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering or related technical subject area
- Demonstrated ability to provide cost and schedule leadership of
a team
- 5+ years managing technical teams and/or leading functional
groups with responsibility for leading and coaching employees
- 10+ years directly related experience
- In depth understanding of fluids components and mechanical
engineering principles
- Track record of delivering large integrated products, on
schedule and in budget
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication
skills
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional
relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylumDesired:
- Experience with space vehicle design
- Experience with valves or mechanical components
- Experience managing suppliers/subcontracts
- Experience with aerospace components
- Experience with CAD (Creo), Windchill PLM and GD&T
- Demonstrated capability to manage test campaigns
- Familiarity with agile project management
- Experience with critical path scheduling, IMP/IMS, risk
management, requirements management and Cost Account Management
