  • Award winning hospital in Northwestern Washington is in need of an Ulitization Review/Case Manager to work a 13 week travel assignment.
  • Experience or 'Must have' skills: One year specifically in UR in acute care.
  • Concentration, organization and not easily distracted.
  • Office can be noisy.
    • Job Requirements
    • Case load varies- UR RN- Job duties- looks at every new patients and follows current inpatients to make sure they meet criteria to be inpatient.
    • Consults with Drs on status- Inpatient vs obs.
    • Vetting insurance calls.
    • Can have up to 30 patients.
    • Must have- Interqual, Milliman, MCG.
    • UR- No discharge planning.
    • CM- would do discharge planning.
    • Inpatient, L&D, ED for special cases.
      • Schedule Information
      • 8 hour shifts (can be there up to 9 hours).
      • Weekend rotations.
      • Director makes schedule and tries to make it as fair as possible.
      • Every other weekend.
      • Holidays are done by rotation.
      • Traveler will be put in that rotation.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Department: UR (Utilization Review)
        • What areas do they cover: Inpatient, Outpatient, ER, Home Care, etc.
        • All areas- Inpatient- birth center, inpatient units.
        • ER if they are specifically asked- special cases.
        • Common types of patients & job duties: Inpatient, L&D, ED for special cases.
        • Department Specific Orientation: 1-1.5 weeks of orientation.

          • START DATE: 10/29 (TUE)
          • **50 mile radius rule**
          • They have a per diem UR as well.
          • UR leads rounds everyday at 0945- with Doctors and interdisciplinary team.
          • Director will lead if available.
          • 1 UR, 1 SW, one discharge planning (CM) nurse daily.
          • All located in one room.
          • One secretary (M-F) that helps with all of the roles.
          • Great working group.
          • Director is willing to work with travelers.
          • Need to know all PTO requests now.
          • If more than a week, they will need to make up to complete the full contract.
