With offices in both Seattle and Bellingham, we are currently seeking a Field Engineer based in the Seattle office .

Job Summary:

As a member of the Jansen team, the Field Engineer works in a fast-paced and changing work environment on projects with site work. Under the direction of the Project Engineer, tracks quantities and cost, participates in work plan development, assists win the coordination of construction activities and assists with contract management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate takeoffs based on designed plans that meet the project specifications.
• Develop complete understanding of contract plans and specifications by reading and understanding them.
• Examine field conditions and identify problem, inaccuracies, and identify cost savings when requested.
• Manage document control, received and log in new issues and maintain control log.
• Improve project operations by recommending to the Project Manager as appropriate procedural changes, staffing and alternative methods.
• Contribute to the project master schedule using appropriate techniques, scheduling software.
• Manage site erosions control documentation.
• Assist superintendents and foreman in tracking additional work.

  Qualifications
  
  Education and Experience
  
  Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, environmental engineering, or related field.
  
  Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications and contract documents.
  
  Demonstrate ability to apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.
  
  Solve moderately complex problems.
  
  At least (1-3) years related experience minimum. (Entry to mid-level)
  
  Valid Driver's License and the ability to pass a background check and at-hire drug test.

  Physical Requirements & Work Environment - The Field Engineer position will typically experience frequent sitting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, standing, crawling, reaching, walking, driving, traveling, kneeling, and crouching. Typically, working indoors and outdoors. Sound level - moderate. Temperature - moderate. May work in multiple locations.
